You Can Touch My Hair

Earlier this summer in Union Square Park, here in New York City, three woman stood with signs that read “You can touch my hair”. It’s a phrase that I myself have rarely had the pleasure of saying, because in my experience most people don’t ask and just jump in and touch with asking!

No one expected the attention that these woman would receive during the 2 day period, and as a result a documentary was created. I loved Michaela Angela Davis, and hearing her perspectives on hair. I don’t want to ruin it, but it’s amazing the confusion and curiosity about our hair (mostly from our people). If  the world knows anything, they know that black women and hair are closely connected.
